I received my billet aluminum socket trays from Westling Machine today, and they’ve organized up my box something fierce. Metric on the left, standard on the right...only sockets I didn’t have room for were 1 5/16 standard and 29-32 metric. I might order a blank tray from them for the big guys, but they’ll be used rarely enough I’ll likely just squirrel them away in the bottom drawer.
Also! I’m still working on my pegboard wall, but I wanted to show you fine folks the section I like to call “The Wall of Leverage”.
There will also be a 1/2 drive flex head long handle ratchet in that long empty spot on the left, and two more pry bars next to that big bastard there. I’ve also got another tool storage rack that I hope I can use for 1/4 drive ratchets, because then all my ratchets, breaker bars, and torque wrenches will be on the wall and I think that’s neat.

I love having tools organized. T hese have all seen some pretty heavy useage.

Holy moly. Nice collection. I’m wondering if it’s worth it getting a pegboard like that, ‘cause I just have a big board with nails in it and stuff sometimes flies off. Do you ever have issues with that?

I haven’t so far, but it’s also only been up for a few weeks. The hangers I’m using lock into the slots, if it comes off the board it’s because something broke...nothing is falling out of there. The brand is Wall Control, I’ve probably got $200 or so into the board itself and pegs...I could have done hardboard for less, but this seemed like a better option. I’ve got 8 feet by 32 inches worth, lotta room.

Very nice. I desperately need to organize my sockets, but I have such a hard time taking everything out of its case to do so...

I’ve never liked having tools in cases...I’ve got my reciprocating saw in a case and that even kinda annoys me. Before this I had my sockets on rails, which was okay, but it wasn’t very space efficient for storage in a chest. I like these trays a lot, super nicely made.

I have rails laying on the bench to put sockets on (I have them in a fairly shallow drawer) but for some reason I don’t want to mix up my SK sets with other random sockets
and so on, even though they could easily be sorted back out

Yeah, I get what you mean...mixing brands has felt weird to me here. The 1/4 and 3/8 are Craftsman, the 1/2 is Tekton.
Also, the ‘short’ 1/2 breaker bar on my Wall of Leverage is an SK, and maybe my favorite tool ever because it has a 1/2 square drive and can be used as the world’s heaviest extension bar. Bailed me out big time when I had to change some hydraulic hoses on a Komatsu excavator and I only had 2 feet worth of extensions when I needed 3 feet. I’m a big fan of SK tools.
